Accessibility That Moves Lives Forward

Empowering individuals with spina bifida and spinal cord injuries to live with independence, dignity, and full participation.

Accessibility - Inclusion - Empowerment

The spirit of the Elizabeth Allen Foundation was born when Elizabeth was diagnosed in the womb with spina bifida. In attempting to create a world for Elizabeth where limitations did not exist, the challenges of accessibility became very apparent.

Her parents understand firsthand the challenges and triumphs that come with raising a child with spinal differences. What began as a personal journey quickly became a calling, to turn experience into purpose and compassion into action.

The Elizabeth Allen Foundation is committed to empowering individuals with spina bifida and spinal cord injuries to live with independence, dignity, and full participation in their communities. We work to remove physical and social barriers through home accessibility improvements, community accessibility projects, and community advocacy. Guided by compassion and inclusion, we envision a world where every person, regardless of ability, can move freely, thrive fully, and feel at home in their community.

-Mission Statement-

"We strive to create a world where individuals with spina bifida and spinal cord injuries live without barriers – in homes, communities, and environments that embrace accessibility, inclusion, and independence."
